Since the early 19th century Paul Jaboulet Aine has been synonymous with quality wine in the Rhone.
In 2006, the Frey family from Chateau La Lagune in Bordeaux saw the potential in Jaboulet‘s vineyards when they bought the estate and swiftly implemented sweeping changes, bringing a new sense of energy and purpose to this historical producer and restoring Jaboulet to its position as one of the Rhone’s most important wineries.
The Frey Family (specifically, Caroline Frey) has put more emphasis on greater fruit expression, dramatically reducing the amount of new oak to around only 20% for the reds, and to negligible proportions for the whites.
“Fresh and very lively in feel, with nicely embedded acidity driving the delicious plum, cassis and blackberry fruit flavors along, Lots of bright bay leaf, savory and iron notes stream through the finish. Shows solid cut and drive. Best from 2019 through 2030.” – Wine Spectator 93 Pts
