Vivino offered Beau Vigne Old School 2016 on December 16, 2020.
How many under $30, 2016 Napa Valley Cabernets are there from 100 point Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate producers? Not many, zero in fact until now!
Top notch 2016 bargains are becoming a thing of the past. 2016 may well be the greatest vintage in Napa Valley in the past 20 years.
Beau Vigne’s magnificent Old School Cabernet is drawn entirely from 50-year-old vines and aged in barrels for 32 months (a focus on extended barrel aging). In Parker’s “epic” 2016 vintage, Beau Vigne would harvest less than one ton per acre of small berry Cabernet Sauvignon. Sugars were excellent, but more importantly, acid structure was superb.
FOR SURE, this is worth a major shot… ONLY 6 barrels made are up for grabs, the rest goes to their ironclad, devoted mailing list.
Secretly released at $85 and today get it for $28. For the Old World bargain hunter’s and lovers of unique Napa Valley charm – Old School “Extended Barrel Aging” is textbook Napa, powerful, sleek, and packed with crushed earth and red fruits.
