This is the top brand of the huge Terra da Vino cooperative. It works with selected growers who agree to very high standards of viticulture. Specific parcels in Barolo are vinified separately, aged in small oak barrels, then blended before bottling.
The nose is very ripe but subdued, with cherry and marzipan aromas. It’s firm on the palate, quite rich and concentrated, and good acidity gives flair and leads to a long peppery finish.
While Barolo is known for its aging potential, this one is also super drinkable right now.
James Suckling: 95 Points
Dense and tight with chewy tannins, dried fruit and chocolate/hazelnut flavors. It’s full-bodied with wonderful richness and power at the end. Needs two to three years to come around. Better after 2023
