4.4 Vivino Stars (150+ Reviews)
A blend of 70% Malbec, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and crafted by none other than consulting winemaker Roberto de la Mota of Cheval des Andes (the $90+ Malbec venture with partner Château Cheval-Blanc).
Piatelli’s 30-70-year-old Malbec, Cabernet, and Merlot vines must LOVE where they’re growing in Argentina’s prestigious Uco Valley and Luján de Cuyo. With arid-clean air, crystal-clear water sources, and nutrient-rich soils, these vines don’t produce much fruit, but the fruit they do produce? WOW! Packed with structure, bold red fruit flavors, and vibrant acidity, these grapes are painstakingly farmed to go into Piatell’s Bordeaux-inspired “Trinita” red blend. Because of its tiny production, it’s not easy to find, but Vivino has a few cases available for under $25/bottle!
