Apologies for our hiatus from the blog. We’ve been busy tasting some amazing line ups and we’re feverishly putting together our thoughts. While this takes time, and A LOT of tasting (ahem, drinking . . . can’t let it all go in the spittoon!), we’re super excited to share them with you in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
We did, however, find time yesterday to get out and enjoy the unusual warm weather resting over Southern California. A picnic lunch at the beach was in order and sharing it with a new friend (a Japanese wine importer making rounds through California and Oregon), made it even more special.
A warm day begged for a cool wine, and this 2017 Jean-Louis Chavy Puligny-Montrachet hit the spot. Aromas of summer fruit, lemon, and hay. Good intensity with a slight smokiness on the palate and a hint of creaminess. A long, intense finish.
