The 2021 Gigondas offers a deep garnet color with a rich bouquet of ripe red and black fruits such as cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant, complemented by subtle notes of garrigue herbs, white pepper, and a hint of liquorice.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, showing a balance of concentrated fruit and spicy complexity with smooth tannins. This wine shares some stylistic kinship with southern Rhône classics like Châteauneuf-du-Pape but tends to be more rustic and approachable in its youth. It has good aging potential, developing earthier, truffle-like nuances over time.
Serve slightly cool, around 15-17°C, alongside hearty dishes such as braised lamb, beef daube, or peppered steak to highlight its robust character and spice.
