Bright, concentrated aromas of blackberry and black cherry lead, framed by warm baking spice, cocoa and a hint of cedar.
The palate is plush and full-bodied with ripe dark-fruit depth, smooth, well-integrated tannins and a touch of espresso that carries through to a long, slightly toasty finish. The blend’s Merlot and Petit Verdot add roundness and aromatic lift, giving the wine more approachability than many strident Napa cabs of similar ripeness. Drinks well now but will reward short-term cellaring for added polish.
Serve slightly below room temperature with grilled ribeye or mushroom-stuffed portobellos.
