Bright, focused Chardonnay from Francis Orban’s single‑parcel Les Malaquais shows lemon confit, green apple and a fine chalky minerality framed by subtle brioche and toasted almond from extended lees aging. The 2018 vintage brings ripe citrus intensity and a gently saline acidity that keeps the palate energetic without heaviness. Texturally it’s rounded and offerS a mid‑palate creaminess that balances the wine’s precise drive, making it a good example of village‑level Blanc de Chardonnay with serious tension. Approachable now but structured enough to gain complexity with a few years’ cellar time.
Serve chilled with oysters, lemon‑butter scallops, or a creamy fish en papillote.
