Château Durfort-Vivens Margaux 2015 is a polished, medium-bodied Bordeaux with a rich core of black fruit, violet, licorice, and subtle vanilla. It shows Margaux’s classic refinement, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a supple, lifted finish that keeps the wine elegant rather than heavy. The overall style is both sensual and restrained, with enough depth to suggest a serious, ageworthy château wine. It can feel a little like a more understated, Cabernet-led Margaux in the vein of a graceful young Léoville-Las Cases.
Serve it with roast lamb, duck breast, or a mushroom tart.
