The Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino 2020 is a velvety, full-bodied red with an ethereal bouquet of violet, vanilla, and licorice. Its palate delivers soft, intense flavors of black cherry, plum, and spice, balanced by vibrant acidity and firm yet silky tannins. While it shares the bold, earthy character typical of Montalcino’s Sangiovese, it feels more open-knit and accessible than many traditional Brunellos, offering a warm generosity reminiscent of a warm, dry vintage. This wine will need a few more years to fully integrate but is already approachable for those who enjoy structured Italian reds.
Serve at 16–18°C and pair with red meats, wild game, or aged cheeses for a classic Tuscan experience.
