Château Lafite Rothschild 2010 is a deep, youthful Pauillac that opens with warm blackcurrants, baked plums, and boysenberry, layered with chocolate mint, violets, cedar, and pencil lead. Full-bodied and densely packed, it balances perfumed black fruit with a rock-solid backbone of ripe, grainy tannins and vibrant freshness, finishing long and minerally. Still reticent but precise, it rivals the legendary 2005 Lafite in structure while offering the extraordinary definition and balance that define the 2010 vintage. Decant 2 to 3 hours before serving at 64–65°F to unlock its formidable depth. Pair with roast rack of lamb with herb crust or tournedos Rossini with foie gras and Madeira jus.
