Luca Maroni 98 Points!
Consultant winemaker Carlo Vittori started Sant’Antimo in the early 1980’s, starting off as one of the original producers of Brunello before the major success of the region. Vittori chose the locations for growing Sangiovese Grosso based on the extensive warmth of the growing season in the province matched with cooling influences from the nearby Mount Amiata and Orcia river. This cooling factor has become paramount now more than ever in the production of balanced wines at Sant’Antimo of structure and freshness.
This offer is everything you want in a Super Tuscan at this price. This wine is packed with notes of red cherry, dried strawberries, plum accented beautifully with cedar and spice. Mostly Sangiovese Grosso, there is a touch of Merlot added to provide plush texture and fruit character. It’s medium to full bodied and ultra smooth.
It’s ideal for having around the house for pizza, pasta, burgers or anything else you might be serving up on a moments notice.
