4.3 Vivino Stars (1K+ Reviews)
This was the second-to-last vintage crafted by longtime BV winemaker Jeffrey Stambor, who learned the ropes from Andre Tchelistcheff and Michel Rolland. This is your shot at owning a piece of BV history, not to mention a Cab-heavy Bordeaux Blend with dueling 93-points scores from James Suckling and Decanter. “Lots of ripe fruit with very fine tannins,” says Suckling, “Dark black berries, notes of cassis,” and “a fine example from Napa Valley,” remarks Decanter. Lower yields in 2015 meant more concentration and fewer cases to go around. At this price, don’t throw away your opportunity!
James Suckling 93 Points
Lots of ripe fruit with very fine tannins and a juicy mouthfeel. Medium to full body, polished and round texture and a flavorful finish. Soft with lots of flavor. Drink or hold.
Decanter 93 Points
Dark black berries, notes of cassis on nose and palate. Intense, focused and precise, it shows a lovely purity of flavour. Excellent oak, concentrated and fresh, very good ageing potential. A fine example from Napa Valley.
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 92 Points
The 2015 Reserve Tapestry Proprietary Red Wine is blended of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot aged in a mix of French, American and Hungarian oak (60% new) for 22 months. It has a deep garnet-purple color and quite a toasty nose to begin, giving way to a beautiful perfume of roses and lilacs with a core of cassis, redcurrant jelly and blackberry tart plus a touch of cedar chest. Full, velvety and seductive, it delivers layers of perfumed red and black fruit with a very long finish.
Wine Spectator 91 Points
Takes a bright and relatively fresh approach, with raspberry and plum coulis flavors racing through first, backed by a plumper feel on the back end, showing notes of anise, mocha and briar. Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2026.
