In 2018, Forbes said it best, “Eric Jensen is making massive waves with his cult status wine: My Favorite Neighbor.” Jensen, of Booker fame, is one of Paso Robles’ most acclaimed winemakers. Robert Parker has said his wines, “are nearly off the chart in terms of their aromatic complexity with stacked and packed personalities as well as brilliant balance.” With My Favorite Neighbor, he’s managed to craft a “Margaux-like” wine with firs growth $800-a-bottle quality for around $80. This rich yet elegant ode to Jensen’s friend, mentor, and neighbor Stephan Asseo of L’Aventure fame, is a “neighbor” you’ll want to visit with over and over, and with 47% off, nothing is stopping you.

“The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is similarly deep purple/ruby-hued and has slightly more red fruits with lots of black raspberry, cassis, toasted spice, unsmoked tobacco, and incense aromas and flavors. It almost has a Margaux-like perfume and is medium to full-bodied, seamless, and wonderfully balanced on the palate. Some chalky minerality comes through with time in the glass, and it has plenty of tannins and a great finish. It’s not an over-the-top blockbuster and impresses just as much for its elegance as its richness.”
