This project by Evening Land (#3 Top 100 Wine) founder Mark Tarlov and La Romanée’s Louis-Michel Liger-Belair captures the best of Oregon fruit & Burgundy elegance.
This 2015 Chapter 24 Fire + Flood ‘The Flood’ Pinot takes you on an epic journey of silky tannins and bright red fruit complexity, sailing from a vintage that Wine Spectator rated 95/100 for Oregon!
As for this wine, amazing praise (and particularly at this price point).
Vinous 93 Points
Brilliant red. Ripe red berries, orange pith and potpourri on the pungent nose, lifted by a peppery quality. Silky and precise on the palate, offering lively bitter cherry and raspberry flavors and a refreshingly bitter touch of rhubarb. Becomes sweeter with air and finishes with powerful thrust, harmonious tannins and an exotic floral pastille note that lingers with strong tenacity.
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 92+ Points
Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 The Fire reveals crushed raspberries and red cherry notes with hints of lavender, underbrush, dusty earth and moss. Medium-bodied, finely crafted, elegant and with oh-so-satiny tannins, the delicate bramble berry and earthy flavors are lifted by the lively acid backbone and it finishes with good persistence.
