It’s down the road from Clos des Papes ($134+) and sits behind Château la Nerthe ($60+), but this 2017 CdP is being offered at a mind-blowing price compared to it’s high-ticket neighbors.
Château Jas de Bressy’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017 red is absolutely packed with juicy, ripe red fruit flavors, spices, and concentration. It’s exactly the kind of powerful, elegant red that we look for in Châteauneuf, and can only come from older vine fruit (in this case, vines that are approaching their ninth decade!)
Putting the icing on the cake is the fact that Jas de Bressy is run by sisters Amelie and Gaelle Barrot, descendants of the famous Mousset-Barrot winemaking family. The cherry on top? You can take this fantastic red home for 40%+ off the regular retail price.

Dulcet notes of violet florals, black cherry and anise perfume this cheery blend of Grenache (80%), Syrah (15%) and Mourvèdre (5%). Sourced from vines averaging over 80 years old, it’s a richly concentrated but brightly balanced sip that throbs of juicy blackberry and raspberry flavors. Fine, taut tannins stand upright on the finish. Delightful now but should maintain through 2030.
