Imagine a full-bodied, finely-grained, perfectly-aged Bordeaux red, in its prime and ready to go. One made by Michel Rolland, the consulting winemaker with the Midas touch. Hailing from Pomerol, which Decanter declared “one of if not the major success” of the 2012 vintage. From an estate within walking distance of Château l’Évangile, Château La Conseillante, and Cheval Blanc. Clos Beauregard shares the same glorious terroir as Pomerol’s most famous producers, but at a fraction of the price. Grab this now, because the secret is officially out of the bag!
Wine Spectator 90 pts.
An enticing red, with lots of black tea, dried star anise and singed mesquite notes leading the way, while supple plum and blackberry pâte de fruit flavors form the core. A ganache edge adds texture and length on the finish, which shows some good latent grip. Best from 2017 through 2025.
