Jolie-Laide’s 2022 Hawks Butte Vineyard Syrah is a **savory, high-toned** expression of Syrah with lifted aromatics and a cool-climate feel. It opens with violet, lavender, peppercorn, graphite, and dried rose, layered over dark red fruit and a subtle iron-and-incense edge. Whole-cluster fermentation gives it a firm, spicy structure and a more rugged, Northern Rhône-like profile than a plush California Syrah.
The palate is fresh and bright, with enough intensity to age well, but it already shows good balance and detail.
Serve with herb-roasted lamb, mushroom dishes, or grilled sausage.
