95-Point Rhône-Style Red With a Petaluma Gap Twist! Limited Cases Available of This “Supple” Keller Estate Syrah. Crafted by Kosta Browne & Merry Edwards Alum Julien Teichmann!
Sonoma’s Petaluma Gap is justifiably renowned for being able to produce complex, aromatic, and finely structured Pinot Noir. We’re talking boutique, world-class stuff—think Bevan Cellars ($106+) or Adobe Road ($68+). Those same fog-influenced, sea-breeze-kissed conditions also make for some of the most elegant Syrah you will ever taste—on par with some of the Cote-Rôtie greats! Luckily for us, Keller estate recognized how well Syrah could do there, and have shot a delicious, refined salvo across the Northern Rhône’s bow with this 2016 “Rôtie” red! Like its Rhône counterparts, this one is made in limited quantities—we’ve only got a limited number of cases. So if you’re in the mood for something unique and spectacularly high-quality, put several bottles of this one in your cart today!
James Suckling 95 Points
“The name is a clear statement of intent for this blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier. Aromas of red flowers, spice, pepper and boysenberries with deeper, blackberry and dry-stone nuances. The palate has a succulent and juicy feel with rich, supple dark berries, dark chocolate, pepper and spice, all intertwined. This is good! Drink or hold.”
