4.7 Vivino Stars!
Sarocka shut down in 2020, but we recently got the keys to their cellar and we’ve been selling out of their remaining wines ever since! Next up is their flagship tete-de-cuvee 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, a red that’s becoming rarer by the day.
The fruit for this Cabernet was sourced from a Spring Mountain vineyard planted by David Abreu, who farms vines for the likes of Screaming Eagle, Colgin, Bryant Family, and Araujo Estate (now Eisele Vineyard, owned by Chateau Latour).
After several years in the cellar, this red has achieved rich, full-bodied greatness packed with beautiful black fruit notes, sweet cedar, and layers of chocolate shavings. The ripe, dark fruit mingles with wild herbs, crushed stones, and tobacco notes on the long finish. Just a remarkable wine!
Little wonder, considering that the winemaker was Mike Hirby of Relic and Realm Cellars fame. This is a once-in-a-lifetime buy that will never be produced again, so grab it while you can!
