One of the things that makes Vineyard 29 such a commanding and individual producer is the unbroken streak of vintages produced by the same winemaking team. Keith Emerson and Philippe Melka worked together for 13 vintages and used that time to run every possible experiment to perfect this wine. They pored through the records of vintages made by previous ownership and put every top barrel brand through its paces. Now Emerson has got it dialed in so carefully that this wine can’t help but produce a flamboyant Broadway musical of a wine that swells with flavors and aromas and lays down a fat stripe of rich fruit and tannin on the palate. Spectacular Cabernet in every way.

Plums, Asian spices, tobacco, and lead pencil notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru, which hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a beautifully polished, elegant texture, and outstanding length. This is another gorgeous 2018 displaying notable purity, balance, and length as well as richness. It can be drunk any time over the coming 15+ years.
